NAL-live is an online review journal in Open Access, published by the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. NAL articles are peer reviewed and published under Creative Commons licence CC-BY 4.0.

Both the authors and other scientists can develop the articles by adding comments and supplements. The documents thus represent open scientific discussions. In undergoing constant updating, the texts will also offer a source of fundamental information on the respective issues for those working in politics and the media.

Chief Editor of NAL-live is Diethard Tautz, “Director Ephemeridum“ of the Leopoldina. Co-Editors representing the four Leopoldina classes are Gerd Leuchs (Class I: Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Engineering), Alfred Wittinghofer (Class II: Life Sciences), Ulf Eysel (Class III: Medicine) and Christine Windbichler (Class IV: Humanities, Social and Behavioural Sciences).
